Iran to finalize North Pars contract with Chinese

“The attachments of North Pars gas field’s contract between Iran’s Pars Oil and Gas Company and China’s SINOC Group are about to be finalized,” Pars Oil and Gas Company’s managing director said here on Thursday.
“Along with our negotiations with SINOC Group, we are also negotiating with some other domestic and foreign groups about the North Pars gas field project,” Ali Vakili explained.
Meanwhile, in regard to the outcome of phases 11 and 13 of South Pars he stated, “There is no problem in selling their gas for there is access to both European and Asian markets which are huge markets.”
He pointed out that current oil and gas prices make the transport of gas via pipelines much more beneficial than LNG.
In regard to finding contractors for these two phases Vakili said, “Negotiations with Total and Shell have not been ruled out completely; a final contractor will definitely be chosen before the end of the year.”
The managing director stressed that one of the platforms of phases 9 and 10 will enter the production network before winter, while stating that the first phase of phases 6 to 8 of South Pars will go on-stream by mid-August.
Vakili said development of phases 22-24 is being reviewed at present by a Turkish company but alongside them we are negotiating with domestic companies as well in case they refrain
