IRI's Ambassador to Tokyo Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday that cultural ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Japan are very deeply rooted.
He made the remark in an opening ceremony of the 15th Tokyo Book Fair 2008.
He said Iran and Japan have always cooperated in cultural fields and exchanged invaluable experiences to this end.
"Active presence of Iranian publishers could help deepen cultural ties between the two nations," he said.
He expressed the hope that the Japanese publishers would play a much more active role in Iranian cultural fairs.
