An official from Kurdestan province called for establishment of a special tourism town in Sarab Qamish Village, near the provincial capital city Sanandaj.
Sanandaj Governor Mohammad Taqi Heidari said that the plan was approved by deputy head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization last year, which should now be followed up by the provincial officials.
He said that the number of foreign and local tourists to the area are growing thanks to development of tourism infrastructures in the province.
He further said that the establishment of a tourism town in the region is necessary.
Heidari described lack of hotels and recreational centers as among the problems facing the development of the provincial tourism infrastructure.
Sarab-Qamish Village is located 15 kilometers south of Sanandaj.
