Iran’s reserves in foreign banks hit $81b

Iranian reserves in foreign banks in mid-February 2008 reached over $81 billion, Iran’s central bank announced on Sunday.
According to a report released by Iran’s central bank this number shows a 36.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2007.
The government’s debts to the central bank from the beginning of the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2007) to February 2008 have increased 11.1 percent.
This report also indicates that banks debts to the central bank have also rose 214.5 percent in this period
