Iran to assist Sudan's agriculture

Agricultural Jihad Minister Mohammad-Reza Eskandari announced on Monday Iran's readiness to transfer technical know-how to Sudan?s agriculture sector.
The Islamic Republic is ready to help the Sudanese farmers in production of rice and wheat as well as attaining the food security through investing and transferring the technical know-how,? Eskandari told the Sudanese ambassador to Tehran Abdullah Khasar Al-Bashir during a visit paid here on Monday.
Having high-level political ties, Tehran and Khartoum can promote the bilateral relations in the economic fields as well, the minister noted.
Pointing out to Iran-Sudan joint economic commission due to be held in the Iranian capital city next month, Eskandari called it an appropriate opportunity to reach mutual agreements in the economic, agricultural, and technical fields. On his part, Al-Bashir referred to Iran?s achievement in wheat production self-sufficiency, stating, the Islamic Republic can help Sudan progress in the agriculture sector due to its scientific and technical abilities.
