The Islamic Republic of Iran has made great advance in the field of pharmaceutical industry providing major part of domestic medicines.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday afternoon that Iran's pharmaceutical industry has capacity for competition at the international level.
Addressing a ceremony attended by the members of Pharmaceutical Society of Iran, the President said: "Government is responsible for supporting pharmaceutical industry in the country.
"Referring to the 95 percent of Iranian needs for medicine is being supplied by the domestic producers, Ahmadinejad said that Iran has the capability to export medicine to other countries.
President Ahmadinejad added that world trusts Iranian pharmacists due to their preference to human benefits rather than economic advantages.
At the ceremony, 13 Iranian exemplary pharmacists were awarded plaques of honor.
