Industrial, Mineral Exports Up

Iran’s industrial and mineral exports have increased by over 46 percent in the first four months of the current Iranian year.
Based on the data released by Iran’s Ministry of Industries and Mines, the value of industrial and minerals, excluding liquefied gases, rose from 46.3 percent to $5.2 billion from March 20 to July 20.
According to ISNA, industrial and mineral exports accounted for 86.8 percent of Iran’s non-oil exports in this period. The value of technical and engineering service exports reached more than $428 million.
The total volume of non-oil exports increased 39.2 percent, compared to the same period last year, reaching $11.98 billion.
Meanwhile, some 100,000 tons of petrochemicals worth $120 million were exported from the Jam Petrochemical Complex in Assalouyeh in Bushehr province during March 2007-2008.
Managing director of Jam Petrochemical Complex said the products were exported to China, India, South Korea, the Philippines and Italy.
“Some 750 tons of ethylene are produced in the complex’s Olefin unit annually,“ Hassan Beigi added.
The complex’s Olefin unit is one of Iran’s largest Olefin plants with the final production capacity of 1,320,000 tons per year including HDPE, LDPE, BD and PP.
Executive operation of Jam petrochemical’s 10th Olefin plant began with the aim of yearly producing 3.3 million tons of ethylene, propylene, high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene and other byproducts in Assalouyeh.
The Chamber of Commerce and the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran are currently discussing how to remove some of the obstacles existing in exporting traditional goods, he added.
