Yazd’s exports value up 78% in 3 months

The central Yazd Province witnessed a 78 percent growth in the value of its exports in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 20) over the figure in the same period of last year.
Talking to ISNA, Mehrab Eskandari, the head of the province’s Commerce Organization, announced that in the quarter more than 87 tons of goods worth $76.16 million was exported from the province, showing a 51 percent rise in terms of weight.
“Telecommunication cables accounted for 67 percent of the province’s export-bound products, outpacing tiles, pistachios, ferromolybdenum, and molybdenum oxide,” said the official.
Importing 26 percent of products, Syria is the main target country for Yazd’s export-bound goods, followed by Iraq, Belgium, Italy, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Netherlands.
