Iran released a computer game, which has been made based on “Barareh Nights”, popular TV comedy series aired by IRIB’s Channel 3 in 2006.
“The Lost Land” has been produced by the National Foundation for Computer Games (NFCG), which works under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
The idea for making the game came when screening of the series began and initial studies were carried out based on each episode of the production, NFCG announced in a press release on Monday.
“Barareh Nights”, which feature silly, opportunistic people from a fictional village, named Barareh, was written by a team of comedy screenwriters led by Peyman Qasemkhani, who wrote the blockbuster “The Lizard”.
The series was directed by Iran’s TV comedy king Mehran Modiri.
The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance established NFCG in April 2006 in order to promote and supervise production of an Iranian brand of computer games.
In July 2007, NFCG sponsored the production of “Rescue the Nuke Scientist”, a video game unveiled by an Iranian student group, which simulates an attempt to rescue two Iranian nuclear experts kidnapped by the U.S. military and held in Iraq and Israel.
