IRI, Algeria keen on housing coop.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Algeria have called for expansion of bilateral housing cooperation.
The interest was expressed in a meeting between the visiting Iranian Minister of Housing and Urban Development Mohammad Saeedi-Kia, and his Algerian counterpart Noureddine Moussa.
Briefing his counterpart on IRI's great potentials and capabilities in the field of housing and urban development, Saeedi-Kia voiced readiness of Iranian private sector to participate in development projects in Algeria.
Welcoming presence of Iranian companies in housing and urban development in his country, Moussa said the Algerian government has planned to construct some one million residential units by 2009.
He added that since the two countries sit on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines, buildings resistant to earthquakes would be necessary.
Meanwhile, Saeedi-Kia met and conferred with Algerian co-chairman Tehran-Algiers joint economic commission, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Rachid Harraoubia Sunday evening.
