Iran’s ambassador to Austria stated that the trade volume between Tehran and Vienna had reached one billion dollars.
“Both sides are enjoying one of the best bilateral relations between two countries and sanctions imposed on Tehran have not affected our relations,” Ebrahim Sheibani told reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with the Iranian cabinet members in Tehran.
He expected that a more active private sector in Iran would result in a considerable expansion of economic relations between the two countries.
The United Nations has approved three rounds of sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program, which the West claims is aimed at building nuclear weapons, Press TV reported.
The EU also agreed in June to ban Iran’s Bank Melli from operating in Europe for “providing services to the country’s nuclear program”.
