The director of the Foreign Investment Bureau at Iran’s Investment and Technical-Economic Aids Organization announced here on Saturday the trend of foreign investment in Iran has been upward during the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 20).
The country has laid suitable bedrocks for foreign investment, Ahmad Jamali said.
Statistics indicate within recent 14 months, over 12.205 billion dollars has been invested by foreign entrepreneurs in 124 projects in Iran, he said adding, in the past (Iranian) year some 11.857 billion dollars was invested in 120 projects.
Within the fifteen years as of July 1993, Asian, European, African, and American countries have invested some 11.3 billion dollars, 10.8 billion dollars, 7.9 billion dollars, and 1.04 billion dollars in Iran, respectively.
The official anticipated that the country would witness phenomenal amounts of foreign investment this year.
