Syria's Endowments Minister on Monday referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran as the strong castle of Islamic and Arabic Ummahs'(nations) might.
Abdul-Sattaral-Sayyed made the comment in a meeting with Deputy Head of Iran's Global Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hojjatoleslam Sayyed Hamed Allam al-Hoda and his accompanying delegation.
He also expressed delight over hearing the news on Islamic Republic of Iran's advancement in various scientific and technological fields, particularly in the field of nuclear technology.
The two sides emphasized the need for broader cooperation among Islamic World leaders during the meeting, aimed at defusing the plots hatched by the enemies to sow the seeds of discord at Islamic societies.
They meanwhile referred to the deep cultural relations, shared cultural and religious values, and inseparable bonds among the Arab countries and the Islamic Republic of Iran, considering both Iran and the Arab World as strong pillars of Islam, without which Islam would not prosper under the perilous international conditions today.
Hojjatoleslam Allam al-Hoda in a separate meeting with the Grand Mufti of the Syrian Sunni brethren, Muhammad Hassoun, emphasized the need for unity and solidarity among the Shii and Sunni brethren, as well as within the Islamic World.
Hassoun during the meeting referred to the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini (PBUH) as the great reviver of proximity movement in current history, adding, "The Islamic Revolution Leader, too, is thanks Almighty Allah, paving the same path prosperously."
He added, "Keeping in mind the Islamic Republic of Iran's scientific and technological achievement and Tehran's political might in entire region, the Syrians consider Iran as the point of strength of the world Muslims today."
Hassoun referred to the plots hatched against the Arab and Muslim nations today and the need to dismantle them, emphasizing, "We need to take advantage of having numerous Islamic schools of thought as a means to further enrich the Islamic jurisprudence."
The Islamic delegation, comprised of religious personalities, Friday prayer leaders and university professors arrived in Damascus on Friday and is scheduled to take part at the Fifth Proximity Conference of Islamic Schools of Thought that would be opened in Syrian capital on Tuesday morning.
