In his one-day tour of Gilan Province, Portuguese envoy to Iran Andre Sobral Cordeiro visited the Commercial-Industrial Zone of Bandar Anzali, a news report said here, on Saturday.

Referring to his objectives in visiting this northwestern Iranian portal city he said that, he wanted to closely become familiar with the economic potentials of the province and the measures taken by the government in the Caspian Sea littoral city. He added that he had earlier visited different Iranian cities but it was the first time that he visited the province.

Cordeiro also commented that, following years of work by the Iran-Portugal Chamber of Commerce, the two countries finally succeeded in signing a number of agreements during their last three months of communications.

At the end of his remarks he expressed hope that with the information he gained from his short trip to the Province of Gilan, more investments would be made in the region and the trade relations between the two countries would further develop
