Britain may have played a role in two bomb blasts a day earlier in thesouthwestern Khuzestan province that killed five people, Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi said on Sunday.
Pour-Mohammadi told Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) that he was suspecting the explosions at a shopping center in Ahvaz, capital of Khuzestan provincebordering Iraq were "a continuation of previous explosions that were guided from abroad."
Iran previously blamed four suspects behind bombings that killed at least eight people in Ahvaz on Iranian Arab extremists with ties to foreign governments, including British intelligence.
Head of Iran's parliamentary commission for national security and foreign policy, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, said Iran was concerned about the possibility of a British role in the blasts.
"Regarding the presence of British forces alongside Iranian borders, there are some concerns about their role in the Ahvaz blasts."
