View of the province > Tourist attractions > Geographical situation Islamic Republic Of Iran has altogether 9 biospheric nature reserves . The biospheric nature reserve of tooran with an overall area of 1470640 m2 , is considered to be the largest one in the country.
Geographical Situation :
Tooran biospheric nature reserve is located 140 km south eastern of Shahrood city and have 28 km distance to south eastern part of byarjamand regional center in northern border of kavir-e-markazi in Iran.
Water Resources :
The biospheric nature reserve include 28 water well with 97 springs , that the most important of them is kal-e-shur which is originate from Binalood highlands in Khorasan province and come to an end to kavir-e-markazi desert.
Animal Distribution :
With the care of ecosystem diversity and plant coverage : to above mentioned region is relatively rich and in same species is one of the kind . This region have two important vertebrate animals population such as mammals and birds , which the explain for each of them would come to follow :
Asian Zebra :
The Iranian Zebra is very much look likes donkey from the family of equidae .which the color on the top of the body is a mix of light brown and yellowish gray color and belly is white . they live in pasture and hilly desert and steppy .
The only and the best natural place for living of this important species is the Tooran biospheric nature reserve .
The duration life of this animal is estimated forty years and have not natural enemy but limitation for habitat water and prey is the most important reason of decrease their population number .
Asian Cheetah(Acinonyx jubatus):
Cheeetah are the most valuable species animal life in Iranian wild life .
This animal is the cats like family (felid ate family) and the fastest animal in the world with amazing speed of 100 km/h.
It normally nourish of deer ,ghazzeles (type of thomsons ghazzales) or jeeber (an Iranian antelope) mauflon and ibex and wild hairs and rabbits.With the care of less population this animal the Tooran biospheric nature reserve is the best habitation and if don't take a serious policy for protection and multiplication prevention to this animal it's descendant would into fallen in to danger of destroyed.
Birds :
The most important and significant species of this region birds include : Hoobara Bazzard,Albinus Crow , Preying Bazzard"different" kind of gutter bird that the most of the bird is local to this area . Between the species have mentioned two kind hoobreh an Albinus Crew have special function into this birds .
Hoobreh :
It’s a bird from hobreh family which is looks like a turkey. It has the neck and tail feathers are blackish in color.
It is a semi migratory bird that put the lie egg and hatch into the Tooran biospheric nature reserve and inter regional migration.
Albinus Crow :
It's a bird from the crow family ( family corvidae ,podoces pleskei) , with feathers in general pinkish color trend to black at the wings and the tail parts . which have less behavior for flying . It's a local bird to Tooran biospheric nature reserve and lie the egg and hatch into the region.
